What could be more fascinating for a lover of photography than to immortalize the hidden, mysterious nooks of Venice?   Venice is the most attractive, marvellous city. It is enchanting and captivating, both seductive and intriguing, it beguiles everyone but photographers in particular.  Venice offers an infinity of photographic possibilities, in the classic shots and the hidden nooks known only to Venetians. You will do a full immersion course of personalised photography lessons, walking around Venice with your teacher to learn, refine and better your photographic technique .  Your photography instructor will teach you how to look to scrutinise , how to pin-point those most significant moments, to master the secrets of photography as professional photographs do.

Mark Edward Smith born in Morocco in 1942 lives in Venice, after studies in Italy works in the electronic field. Since 1973 is a professional photographer specialized in reportage, art, architecture and nude. He   assisted photographic stages  with  Helmut Newton, Marc Riboud e Elliott Erwitt e Oliviero Toscani.

Teaches at the John Hall Venice Course and for 10 years photogrphy at  the Centro Internazionale della Grafica in Venice. Official  photographer for many years Teatro la Fenice, Biennale di Venezia, Palazzo Grassi.

 

Has had more than 35 personal exhibitions and conferences in Italy and France. Represented by photo Agency in Italy and abroad.

Published 56 books in Italy, France. U.S.A., Germany, U.K., Japan, Korea, Spain. Published in the following magazines: New York Times, The Times, Weekend, Geo, Dove, Bell’Italia, Bell’Europa, Winds, FMR, Meridiani, Paris Match, Herald Tribune, Life, Focus, Merian, Harpers Bazar, Ligabue Magazine, Gente Viaggi, Tuttoturismo, Panorama, Espresso, Vie dell’Infinito, Qui Touring ecc.

 

The archive consists in 250.000 digitalised photos and 1.500.000 negatives and colour slides.

Curriculum  and Vitae

Artist photographer, he began his journey with analog photography. Over the years it has developed a line of visual research between "The subjects and their environments". through the black and white technique with which he visually identifies himself. The poetics with which he decodes the situations he decides to tell through his still images, are paintings in motion giving moments stolen from the everyday life of typical subjects of our society. which it represents and of which at the same time it intends to draw attention. In recent years he has participated in various exhibitions in the area.

Carla Carletto studied in Padua and graduated from the Pietro Selvatico art school. She

moved to Venice to specialise in intaglio printing, later devoting herself to her true passion

of black and white photography. In 2007 Carla established with other colleagues the ‘photo-group’ immagine 839. 

Since 2005 she participated in numerous collective and personal exhibitions.

Upon request, she can offer color and black and white photographic materials for editorial projects on themes such as: the human body, feminicide, androgeny, the nude, Venice (architecture, details, landscapes, sunsets, reflections, etc.)
